RESEARCH

My research includes large scale process sedimentation as well as small scale sedimentary structures. I am interested in deep water, fluvial and shallow marine depositional environments of the Phanerozoic. I use a variety of techniques including seismic interpretation and seismic extractions, well log interpretation, core logging, and field work.

Current Research:
I'm currently researching sedimentation and tectonics in the Gippsland Basin from the Late Cretaceous to the Miocene. This research focuses on interpretation of transgressive beach and barrier systems of the Latrobe Group, with an emphasis on palaeoshoreline location and architectural changes since the Late Cretaceous, re-interpretation of large incised canyons as submarine (instead of fluvial), and quantifying rates of structural growth through syn-tectonic sedimentation.

Future Research:
Future research will encompass interpretation of prograding shoreface deposits of the Palaeocene.
